Does your internal monologue change based on the book you read?

Whenever I read old literature my thoughts begin to mimic the writing and sentence structure of the book.

Just a few days from twitter feed to Dorothy Straight, my thoughts, even on 9 to 5 tasks, bear resemblance to the writing I’m reading.

Like I’m still submerged under the wave of confusion.. I would never think to say “bear resemblance”. And I would never naturally use that many commas in my writing.

I even edited this a little as it felt pretentious, probably just because it feels so unlike me recently. And it weirds me out seriously. Maybe my brain was just dumbed down since I hadn’t read in a while.

Again, at the beginning of this year I was reading “A Walk in the Woods” by Bill Bryson. While reading, it wasn’t possible for me to have a walk on the Appalachian trail. But, I couldn’t keep myself seated on my chair.

I started enjoying off road walking and this habit was continued for more than 3 months. When I started reading another book, my off road walking became to an end.

I also noticed that whenever I read a scene where someone is cooking, I also feel like start cooking and sometimes I fail to keep myself away from going to my kitchen.

If I read a scene where someone is eating, I also start eating something, at least crackers or puffed rice and reading becomes more enjoyable with puffed rice.

Does this happen only to me or you also feel the same thing?
